The Quality Series presents:

Creative Garage

Bangladeshi creative studio makes magic for clients

Bangladesh is one of the most populated countries in the world

When you think of start-ups, the first city that often comes to mind is Silicon Valley, with its plethora of venture capitalists and constant stream of new ideas and innovations pouring from the region. Yet, sitting in the East is India’s neighbor, Bangladesh, which is currently taking the spotlight in Asia as a major source of tech startups. With a population of 165 million, it is the 7th largest country in the world. If you then take into account the fact that 60% of its population is under the age of 30, it is no wonder that there is a glut of young talent starting companies.

Bangladesh is more commonly known for its garment industry and its political strife. According to the Human Rights watch, in 2014 a boycott of the national election caused clashes between protesters and the government. Yet this has not stopped the drive of many in the country to continue to pursue their own dreams, especially in the realms of business and technology. Bangladesh Tech Week occurred recently, and it featured 487 homegrown companies showing off their work.

Yet in the world of business, the difference between success and failure can often come down to branding. It’s what separates companies like Apple from Microsoft, or a brand like Mercedes-Benz from Kia motors. One startup in Bangladesh, called Creative Garage, looks to position itself to take on the challenge of building a brand identity. Based in the city of Dhaka, Bangladesh, the company has taken the unique position as a marketing team that can handle just about any task its clients can throw at them.

It is that kind of ambition that helps to set Creative Garage apart from others in the industry. It is one of the few, if not the only in the market that can be said to have the capabilities and the talent to handle just about every aspect of marketing. Aside from just building brand identity, they have taken to making documentaries, handling public relations, doing photography for events, and creating graphic design solutions, just to name a few of their services. The company also runs its very own top of the line recording studio.

While only existing officially as a company for about half a year they have already hit the ground running. Which is in partly due to their experienced and innovative team focused on delivering a unique style relative to their competitors. Unlike many other ad agencies or marketing teams, they focus on creating content that sets their clients apart from others, while sending positive and optimistic messages consumers can resonate with. This has lead them to building relationships with several clients in the past few months based in Bangladesh as well as working with major international organizations such as the World Health Organization and even the Bangladeshi government.

The quality of Creative Garage, and its growth and impress client list, give it cachet with global organizations such as Business Initiative Directions, which works with up and coming companies to help them achieve incredible growth. The BID Award was created to recognize quality in companies that show this kind of great potential. Creative Garage may yet find itself in the international spotlight.

It is with this kind of momentum that Creative Garage is building something unique for the business world in Bangladesh. Since they are not just focused on one thing, they have the ability to tackle any of their clients’ needs in house with their own team. With the continued rapid growth of startups in Bangladesh, they are sure never to run short of new clients needing to set themselves apart or get a bit of attention.
